Saudi Arabia joins the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission’s Executive Council

On June 22, 2021, during its 31st Assembly, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO welcomed Saudi Arabia to its Executive Council.
The IOC is the United Nations body responsible for supporting global ocean science and services. The Commission includes 150 Member States that collectively strive to better understand and protect our oceans, coasts, and marine ecosystems.
