New Saudi addition to World Heritage List
Hima Cultural Area is the latest property to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Through a remarkable series of rock carvings, Hima boasts a substantial collection of rock art images that depict a cultural continuity of hunting, fauna, flora and lifestyles for 7,000 years.

UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
A new joint prize by Saudi Arabia and UNESCO will support the sciences by rewarding innovative achievements by young people that are conducive to socio-economic transformation and development on a global scale. The UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will be awarded every two years, starting in 2022, to five laureates from the five geographic regions of UNESCO.
