New Saudi addition to World Heritage List

UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

A new joint prize by Saudi Arabia and UNESCO will support the sciences by rewarding innovative achievements by young people that are conducive to socio-economic transformation and development on a global scale. The UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will be awarded every two years, starting in 2022, to five laureates from the five geographic regions of UNESCO.

Farasan Islands Added to Global Biosphere Reserves Network

Farasan Islands, an archipelago of over 170 islands, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves—a first for the Kingdom, and an important learning area for sustainable development under diverse ecological contexts.
